Hi all,
Have spent last few days adding all the decals and parts to my Henglong Challenger 2 that Santa left me.
Quite a job as the decals didn't want to stick to the body work, the extinguishers are a right nightmare.

I already have a metal upgrade Taigen Panzer IV,
which I am very happy with so asked for the Challenger 2 base version to see what they are like to assemble.

It is finished and I am quite happy with my work but the photos I have taken seem to be too large to download to this site so I cannot show them to you.....

I do not know how to adjust them which is a shame but the size difference is amazing.

Hi Andy, When it comes to applying decals there is a product that you should never be without,
The usual advise when applying decals to a MATTE surface is to first coat the area in anything that will put a smooth surface in place of the MATTE,
Instead of that I always use a two bottle product the first called "MICROSET" paint it liberally over the MATTE Finish then slide the decal into position dab the area dry then paint on using the second bottle "MICROSOL" and leave it, you will see a terrible mess appearing,
LEAVE IT ALONE,
After a while you will find that your decals look like they were painted on,
Trust me it changes how you apply decals for ever.

PS I would chuck the HENG LONG/TAIGEN Decals in the bin.

Interesting... I'm always learning...and I need to learn a lot ....

I found that the best way of dealing with the decals for the Challenger extinguishers was to spray them with red paint then give them a couple of coats of clear laquer, then carefully cut the white labels out with a scalpel and just apply that part, I them gave them a couple more coats of laquer to fix things. The holders were then hand painted with matt paint.
