Hi, Most of my Tanks and all of my Aircraft use LI-PO Batteries,
As long as you are sensible with the way you charge, use and store them they are so much better than NICAD or NIMH,
Same size for twice as much power.
shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

CHIEFSON, I have been having an on going discussion with Clark himself with regards to this as I have blown 4-5 boards over the last 6 months. I have been exclusively lipo 2S, and he had to replace a SMD capacitor on all of them and had also sent me some just in case. He thinks that when I put fresh 2S in the voltage is simply too high.

What I have been doing is not fully charged my lipos. Fingers crossed as I haven't had one since but we should see.

So I should /can use 7.4 volt and no more.2cell not a 3 cell.thanks, I like my lipos they have more power and give you more space to use inside your tank

Definitely not 3S and use with caution with 2S. I have seen some freshly charged 2S gives out over 8v initially and I think that might have been my problem.

I have also seen some freshly charged 3S gives up to 12.1v on my Turnigy radio.

Thing is a freshly charged nimh will give 8.4v too but I guess it sags lower under load which a Lipo won't.
