IBU2 Pro, it's all gone horribly wrong! Need help.
Hello
I have had my IBU2 Pro for a couple of months, purchased via RC Tank Electronics on the deal with board/transmitter set up ( Flysky FS-CT6B)*. and this week managed to get around to installing it in my Tiger 1 (Taigen metal IR recoil turret, Taigen upper and lower hulls).
Prior to putting in the IBU2 Pro board I followed instructions from the downloaded manual and adapted the HL high intensity flash, which works. I also found info on the forum for neg recoil return connected to neg on battery power switch and made this connection. As far as I can see, all the connections are solid with no bridging/short circuits. have a Taigen improved speaker on board, this works fine. Batteries used are fully charged.
I don't have a good grasp on the electrics side of things but have found the info on the forums very helpful to date.
Now to the IBU2 Pro, this is the bit that seemed to get way out of hand and made me feel like the sorcerers apprentice! I went through the operating and installation manual for card version 1.10, all connections to the board made, I checked and set dip switches (after reading a review on the forum it would seem I didn't need to do this). Micro SD card into the reader/computer, comes up as IBU2(J:) drive. Folders listed (V10)'s and open these up for sound effects files. Down the list is the Configuration Settings which comes up (on Windows 10) as " IBU2 notepad". As per instructions (p21) "copy all the contents into the micro SD card root, overwriting the existing files..." . Copied (I assume right click, copy? I'm not exactly a whizz with IT either). When I inserted the card back into the IBU2 Pro and tried it I initially did get everything ( really impressive sounds), the gun even went into the proper recoil position. IR not connected as I won't be using it.
I went back to the card, I removed the vocals, music and IR battling parts (I don't need them, but I'll bet I've voided any warranty here!). I went back to connect up motors, all motion OK but now no sound? since this things went from bad to worse, I went back into configuration settings, everything I need is listed there and I have tried to reset the dip switches. Now I have no sound, only a hum coming from the receiver, the gun barrel flashes once on turning on, no barrel recoil, turret turns one way only. Board green light is flashing , so I know that is working. It seems every time I turn on the tank/transmitter, things are worsening. I expect that Iv'e done something fairly dumb but have got to the point where there seems no way out and I need help if it's out there. I realise that I've been long winded in getting to this but I've tried to put everything down to highlight the problems.

* I believe the deal was supposed to be aimed at those with little or no experience of R/C electronics, from what I've read on the forum.

Hi Weazil,
Sounds like the microsd formatting has got messed up or its not inserted properly into the ibu2.
If you remove the microsd card and try using the tank does it work? Obviously you won't have sounds and it will default to basic settings but should still work.
Ian.

Hello Ian,
Sorry for not getting straight back to you. I've just removed the card and turned on. Board light flashing, receiver light on, slight hum (coming through the speaker), headlights on (full) but nothing else working. I don't think the card was incorrectly inserted. Have just re-inserted it but no change.

1 off 2 on 3 on 4 off 5 off 6 on 7 off 8 on.

8 on means in configuration mode, turn off and you should get to control the tank again.

Turned 8 off, back to turret traverse( one way), no barrel movement, MG firing lighting up, no gun flash, recoil or tank motion, no sound.

Okay might of lost its configuration settings with it been in config mode.
Run through the radio to ibu2 sequence again, remember to turn the small knobs when doing it.

Been through it, tank motion forward, no reverse, right turn/spin but not on left. Everything else as before. Used both knobs, nothing.
