IBU2 set up question

Hello
I recently bought an IBU2 Board with a 4 channel remote for my 1/16 Heng Long Tiger 1 After disconnecting the old Heng Long RX18 I would start up the tank and the remote control and the turret would rotate in one direction before hitting its limit. The turret could not be turned as this was occurring,
Eventually I got it to where the tank would move and have the sound effects of the IBU2 board but the turret would still try and rotate.
Trying to solve this now results in the situation where trying start the tanks engine with the controller fires the machine gun and its corresponding light.
Any tips on to set up an IBU2 board and controller so it remembers the settings when it is turned off and on and doesn't need to be calibrated every I turn on the tank.
Thanks
Craig

IBU2 uses none volatile memory so it's physically impossible for it to decalibrate when you turn it off.

That is correct Craig. Plus I always calibrate the radio to the IBU2 before sending out so was no need to redo it.
The symptoms sound like it's not receiving one of the radio channels correctly (number 3) so check that it is still connected properly and run through the radio configuration process until it sees all for channels. And check you don't have any trims off center before doing the radio configuration.
Ian.

Also make sure the battery is charged.

Thank you Tankbear
I am currently charging my battery and I will check the connections.
I will report back after this, I'm somewhat new to RC tanks so I will probably have more questions at some point in future.

Hello
I'm not sure how I seemed to manage it
I checked the connections of the IBU2, and put in the newly charged battery. The gun elevation would go up without command.
I wondered if I had set the connectors wrong so I switched them. Afterwards I could get gun elevation, main cannon sound effect and machine gun sound effect. But they were made using the right hand part of the controller and I could not get the turret to traverse left or right.
The normal way to start the tank's engine on the left side produced no result and I couldn't manoeuvre the tank.
Earlier in the day I could drive the tank but not traverse the turret.

SOunds like some of the reciver plug are in the wrong channel. I think you need to swap channels 2 and 3 (but i could be wrong)

Should be
IBU 1 to RX 2
IBU 2 to RX 1
IBU 3 to RX 3
IBU4 to RX 4
For your controller.

Could be that, I will try again with the board and my tank at the next opportunity for me.
Thanks to the people who have replied to this thread for the suggestions, it's very helpful and helps

It could be that you have a bad wire on one of the connector leads that goes to the reciever
The last ibu I bought had 4 bad leads and I was having all sorts of issues. I was thinking that I got a bad board but I replaced all the leads as a last resort and the board then worked!
