I run steel gearboxes in all my tanks, and yes Keiser is 100% correct output shafts bearing supports make a huge difference! The only thing I've ever done to mine were to spray motorcycle chain lube on the gears but it wares off after a while. My KT which Keiser referenced as going 3 miles actually went 6 miles. 3 miles in, 3 miles out....96 scale miles! I haven't lubed them in a while and some of the teeth are getting worn so I may have to replace them.

I bet a drop or 2 of valve grinding compound would get them meshing nice and fast! May have to give that a try as my KT is looking like it maaaaay need a new set of gearboxes. Hardened or not there's only so much they can take when the tracks lock solid and the high torque motors are running full tilt with the IBU2 set to 15 amps for the motors with a 5800mah lipo battery running everything. A few of the teeth on the gears are starting to look awfully sharp!

Axle support bearings are really essential in any Tank that is going to work rather than sit looking pretty on the shelf, you will need the outside diameter of the axle because they come in different sizes,
Dave at Forgebear on E-BAY has a wide selection for different Tanks as does Steve at
If you go to TIPS & TRICKS there is a piece to help in fitting them, under the catchy title of "AXLE SUPPORT BEARINGS"

Ah. It's for the drive shaft then, yes? I took a look at Forgebear's store but only has for Tiger I it seems. I am looking for such bearing for my M1 and Leo2.
