VERY NICE RESULTS Scalawag ...Like all the Stowage too

PS. How did you get that "birds eye view" shot? That tank is Huge...I usually get my feet in there somewhere

I add to the HL Abrams M1A2 thread my build. It represents the M1A2 SEP which replaced the M1A2. I"ve detailed it to represent one arriving In Iraq at or near the end of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2011 still in Nato Camo before it had a chance to be painted desert sand.
Changes to the M1A2 to make it A SEP/System Enhancement program tank started in 2001 and included more armor and electronics upgrades, the removal of the APU/Auxiliary Power Unit from the turrets bustle rack to a new location inside the left rear sponsoon of the tank with its air intake on the side of the sponsoon and its exhaust between the left rear taillight and the main engine grills. It's access panels were located on the top of the sponsoon and its name was changed to UAAPU/Under Armor Auxiliary Power Unit. The units new location was chosen because the old bustle rack APU became a target that when hit could cause fuel to be drawn into the main engine air intake causing fires which destroyed several M1A1 and M1A2 Abrams and damaged others.

Its place on the Bustle rack was taken over by a part of the new TMS/Thermal Management System. It consisted of the AHU/Air Handling Unit on the bustle rack, a covered connections which ran out the bottom of the AHU and under the turret where it entered the turret near the turret ring and was hooked up to VCSU/Vapor Compression System Unit.
The TMS was needed to keep the new electronics package LRU/Line Repairable Units under 195 degree F and offered the added benefit of keeping the crews area around 95 degrees under desert conditions. This was the first US tank to have air conditioning.

The only other visible change was the addition if junction box between the right rear tail light and the main engine grill which contained a battery charging connection.

The M1A2SEP weighed in at about 69.5 Tons. About 1 ton more then the M1A2 with little change to its driving performance.
The Abrams M1A2SEP has already been replaced by newer model and is no longer in service with the US Army.

Heck Gigs....with your skill..you should be able to just print one up

Gigs-I used the same one.
Just had to cut a piece out of the center of the lid and box, glue the ends together, replace the bottom after cutting the original off, with a piece of styrene.
The ends become the sides which are the right size to be 1/16th scale once the bottom is cut off and fit right into the bustle rack.
If you don't want to bother cutting off the bottom don't put anything under it on the bustle rack but it will look to tall when out of the rack.

That means you ground off the little igloo logo imprint. I wanted for some reason to keep that. Also wanted to keep the wall thickness the same so I could show it opened with the ice with some stuff in it.

Think the only thing you wouldn't be able to print up are the Ice Cubes

Yours looks good in the rack scalawag its just a lot bigger then mine. I have two canvas rolls under it to raise it up when in the rack.

When you get the ice pick though it and you will find small more to scale pieces mixed in (its all cut from crystal styrene rods that are kind of oval shaped and not all the same size). Many of the larger pieces can be split into four more to scale pieces.

The ice in my picture are just the small pieces I picked out.
