Tamiya Traverse gears

Who on here has either:
1. Fixed the clutch on the gears for the turret rotation so it doesn't slip anymore or
2. hotglued the clutch gears so it has more bite before it slips?

I am tempted to do something about my standard gears because it keeps slipping on the same position and I have no idea why. My tiger is almost perfect now apart from this slipping problem!

And since I'm asking this - can anyone tell me the correct speed for the turret rotation? and also the correct speed of the tank going forward and back?

I just picked up a used Tamiya King Tiger and it was doing the same thing. When I took a closer look, it appeared that the recoil unit was hitting the traverse motor when the barrel was elevated. After straightening the bracket the problem disappeared. Also, the turret wiring is just too long in the Tamiya tanks in my opinion and gets hung up unless routed neatly. I use Scotch brand tape and not the plastic ties to keep my wires in place because I found them to get hung up on things in the turret. Maybe a couple of things to check if you haven't already done so.

Thanks. Someone mentioned the scotch tape trick (could be you actually) so I shall do that to mine. My cables are all neat but they do use zip ties.
I think the clutch on my turret turning (traverse? It's a new word for me!) is too loose and it gives easily.

I glue mine and they work fine. The other thing you can do is swap the gears round so the slipper gear is closer to the motor.

Regarding turret speed is going to be hard to get it spot on, you could use a variable resister to tune the speed then find the resistance required and use a normal resister (although I seems a lot of effort for little gain). Same with tank speed, you will find first of are you talking about on road or off road. With the tiger and king tiger your pretty close to on road speed with stock setup. You can limit speed with a computer transmitter by limiting the throws. But imo you may as well just driving it to scale speed.

I've put hot glue in the clutch gear and it seems to be helping.. It still 'clutches' but it takes more to clutch it which is much better.
I might look into this blue gear thingy that everyone is talking about and see about replacing mine as well at some point. I don't' think I really need the clutch anyway.

Regarding speed - I think I'm happy with my turret speed now. I've added delay in my transmitter as well so it slows down before coming to a stop.
