Girls und Panzer

Hey guys, i'm new to this forum but not new to tanks or rc vehicles. I have a couple of tanks that I would like to model after the GUP but have a few questions. I've looked at some of the builds that ALPHA has done and they are spot on. Hopefully he can chime in and help me with my questions
I was looking on e bay for GUP stuff and found that they have different types of the girl figures. Which ones are the right ones for the 1/16 scale tanks? The 1/35 ones would be too small but I saw that there were 1/8 scale and other ones that just went by measurement in cm, I think they were 14cm or so.
Also I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get some of the decals for the tanks. I found a bunch on e bay from a china seller but it says that they do not ship to Canada which is where I am from.
any help would be appreciated thanks :)

Hey Death...drop in on one of my threads anytime...several have their photos gone...because Photobucket screwed the pooch...but yes...drop questions anywhere ...even in a PM...I do try to pick up the line...sometimes I miss a post or two....I'm human lol ;)

The figures are difficult to find...I fabricate my own with figures... head and sometime arms I mod from old garage kits combined with the figures that come with the tanks ....It's time consuming....and like edpanzer says...the figures really have no noses :haha:

The markings on my tanks were made by a friend ....I would trim them out and glue them on then seal the mark

Which tanks are you planning to build?

Hey ALPHA, thanks for the reply. I have a few options that I am considering for the GUP tanks, I have a taigen pz iv, a heng long pz iv bottom and stugg upper. I also have a Tamiya Panther and a hooban elefant NIB. I do also have a gray pz III . Decisions decisions!
So you are saying that none of the figures on e bay would work then? It must be a bugger to try and make your own, not sure if I am capable of making my own figures. I wonder if there are similar anime girl figures that would work? Im not a perfectionist so they don't have to be perfect.

Long story short Death...I used to make anime figures before...I'm not sure the thread still exists...but I posted some here....so making the figures isn't too much of a problem for me....I have the set of Oarai crew members...I think we are speaking of the same ones...I wouldn't go as far to say that they won't work...but they are a tad bigger than 1/16th...I think they are scaled to 1/12th....You just have to keep in mind that it's anime ;) ...so if it looks good...it's ok :haha:

Sounds like you have a really good selection of tanks to work with...you might consider investing in the copy of ACHTUNG PANZER...specifically made for the modeller...I'll send you a link to one at a really good price...I have found it invaluable ...even though the diagrams are drawn..they are pretty accurate ...so it will save you time once you start your builds ;)

Don't forget....drop me a line anytime...if I can help I will

PANZER VOR!!!!

For markings all you need do is take what ever you want made to a vinyl sign shop and they can make you custom stickers of anything you like. If there aren't any near you just shoot me a PM and I'll get the stuff printed out at my local shop and ship it to you, you pay for the printing and shipping of course.

Hey jackalope, that sounds great I will send you a pm! ALPHA, that would be sweet to make that stugg, the paint scheme alone will take a bit to do but would be killer when done, especially with all the flags! looking forward to it :)

I got decals for mine lol....another member here turned me on to a set...had a friend make the flags...so that one is set to go ;) ....it is the hardest one to do as far as decaling goes...not sure the vinyl stick on type would work...the tank surface might end up really bumpy ;)

For the rest I would say Jack's suggestion is good....My print outs work well already...so those stickers should too...placement would be a one time shot...and it might peel the paint if you do it crooked...but it is something to think about
