Mato metal sprocket for M1 Abrams issue

I was so eager to install the metal sprocket when it won't fit the gearbox's shaft. Turns out the metal sprocket inside looked like this:

Note that there are two tabs instead of just one. WTH?!?

Is this a quality control issue or is this the norm for M1 sprockets? My Mato Leo 2A6 metal sprockets were ok. I'm thinking this is a quality control issue, that they forgot to drill away the extra tab. So now I need to fix this for it to be usable.

Ideas?

hi there they look like tamiya ones to me mato don't make the sprocket yet its in the pipe line to be made

I have to make a correction for the record:

The tracks were not ordered from Mato but from eBay now that my memory is clearer. The sprockets came with the tracks.

So I guess I'll have to grind that extra tab to fit the driveshafts, yes?

Yes they are made to fit Tamiya shafts. Had to do the same thing to metal sprockets I bought for a M26 to put them on the HL shafts.
