Hi Guys, just a quick question, my HL sherman has metal tracks and i was going to paint them to get them a realistic colour, then i remembered that a lot of modellers use burnishing fluid on their models, i've done a search on the site and found a few posts but i would still like to hear from anyone if this is totally ok to use or are there any horror

story's about using it and wrecking tracks, i have got a lot of ak interactive washes and such that i use on 1/35 and found them to be very good but these models don't move

, so i'm looking for a more permanent method such as the ak burnishing fluid , any other weathering tips or help will be gratefully received

,
Lee.

Birchwood Casey 'perma blue' gun bluing solution works great! And gives a great finish that looks even better once you have run the tracks in abit, used it on loads of metal tracks and never had a problem, how that helps

Yes Sir MB4....Coat it till you get the desired color...then stop....dab off the excess with some paper towels... as you have to stop the process...sometimes it will eat the HL white metal the tracks are made of
Good Luck

Yeah dude that's the one, don't worry it won't eat your tracks, literally just brush it on clean dry tracks with a tooth brush to get in all the nooks and cranies, leave for about 10 minutes and then rinse off, gives a great matt black finish that wears great with use
