Hi all, I've got the Taigen tiger with metal barrel and wondered if anyone has used any lubricant ? I was thinking of lubricating the Barrel with PLUS GAS.....using a cotton bud extended to reach down the barrel......it's a very fine lubricant and I don't think it gets sticky any time.......any advice or ideas
Cheers guys

Hi,
Use silicone airosol spray, the type used for airsoft guns, it really does make a difference, you can buy it in loads of places, just make sure it is the type for airsoft.

Thanks for that Bogeyman ! I'll get some and give it a try.....I've also heard that using decent BBs helps a bit, rather than the ones supplied with the Tank. Do you know if anyone has upgraded from spring to gas in a 1/16 Heng Long. ?
Cheers
Mark

I have heard of a few, but I can't remember who, the creeping death system springs to mind.

If your BB firing unit isn't black with clear plastic bits your in luck! The latest system (production 2014+) is an easy upgrade. Use only "pure" silicone spray and use a .22 cal cleaning kit using lint free patches only. I've found near dry barrels produce higher velocity -spray into muzzle towards breach, swab till patches are clear and a touch damp.
Don't reuse BB's, quality 12g or the 20g in windy conditions.

There is a mod using a different spring but the reliability goes down, can go into more detail if you want.

Not sure...they look the same..but I'm pretty sure some of the mounting specs are a tad different...try checking with FORGEBEAR he might have a few units laying around
Oh...don't lube the barrel itself the lube will cause the bb to lag and shoot crooked...lube only the bunting and the piston...if you have the unit in pieces..lube the piston ring with a viscous pure silicon grease or RC car gear lube ...fire a few times to rid out the residual...then you should be able to play for days maybe a month without having to lube again...the piston seal once is good enough

I will do that ALPHA....good call...I'll contact FORGEBEAR and see what his got in the next couple of days....or like you say......a heng long replacement might very well do the job.....once it's sorted I'm leaving well alone.......and just going to enjoy using it
Cheers for your sound advice
All the best

I left a photo of the bunting on your other post...that one rubber piece is very important for the airsoft unit...if you do get a replacement from an airsoft shop...you may have to cut it down a little...a sharp razor will do the job fine
Also...you can gain a little more velocity by changing the piston ring...since you will have your unit apart...pull the piston out..take it to a local hardware or autoparts store..they should carry an "O" ring that will fit..lube Generously before reinstalling
Good Luck Jeman
