What causes a tank to run scale

Is it the weight? The radio gear? The gearboxes? Sorry I'm a newbie and seen some racing around like buggys sorry I'm a newbie Andy

Not sure what you mean? What causes them to run? The batteries power the tank, the radio gear allows you to control how and where it runs, the gearboxes are to gear down the motors so the tank has the torque to make it move, the batteries power the motors which spin the gearboxes which make the tracks turn.

The speed demon tanks you see on you tube are made that stupid fast by using brushless motors and lipo batteries.

Sorry Run scale means move like a real tank not zip around like most I've seen at a scale speed of 90 mph plus,also jerky instead of smooth

There is two ways of making your tank run at scale speeds
You can replace your gear boxes with low ratio ones.
Or replace the electronics with either IBU or Elmod or repkace both gearbox and electronics hope that helps you a bit :thumbup:

Ah, gotcha! SCALE speeds! 4.1 gearboxes are the easiest way to get them to run more like a real tank.

Can you fit them into HENG longs if so is there any specific good ones? And how much? Thanks Andy

Yes you can. Depends where you live but generally around $50-$70. The better ones are the black hardened steel geared ones as they're tougher.
