Graupner moonraker
Graupner moonraker
Hey folks, this has been an on going project for the last year. It's a graupner moonraker, former fastest yacht in the world. She's 1470mm long, powered by 3 28mm jet drives which run off 3674 1600kv brushless motors producing 2400w of power each. Runs off three 8ah 4s battery packs.
She has full navigation lighting, cabin lighting, below deck lighting, flood lights for the sun deck and rear bit and most importantly she has 12 high power underwater LEDs and two more for mood lighting in the lainch compartment. All the lights are independently switchable. She also has functioning radars and a full sound system courtesy of two benedini TBS minis (one for the Diesel engines and one for the gas turbine), this also allows the use of upto 10 addition sounds. The sound system runs though a 2x40w amp so it can be heard across the pond!
She's not been cheap (I've probably spend well over a grand so far) but I think she will be worth it in the end!
I've been busy painting the superstructure. Masking it off took a good couple of hours but has been worth it. There's a load of fittings and buts left to go but finally she's looking like a proper yacht.
Masking:
Paint going on
Superstructure:
Mated to the hull:
Shot of the sound system:
Motor and batteries:
Lighting:

How do you get her around at that size? Have you had a chance to run her up yet?
