Hi all

Here is my recently purchased vintage king tiger which at the moment i am not sure if i want to turn into a full option tank or just run it with vintage electrics.

One thing i am sure of is that i want it to sit pretty on my shelf and be close to historicaly correct as possible.I dont have much knowledge of the ww2 tanks and how they should look but i have always loved the king tiger so hopefully i will be able to get lots of direction from you folks.

First up where is best place to buy the missing parts of the tank as the exhausts are missing and front machine gun plus coupler mounted machine gun.And is it best to try prize of all the body details to repaint or paint while fitted.

It appears that Jason's store has closed. Too bad because it was a great source for spare parts & they always provided fast shipping. I will now have to purchase spares from Tamiya USA at a higher cost.

There are a number of dealers in both the UK and Germany who can supply your TAMIYA bits and pieces,
If you go to the recommended dealers site on this Forum you will find a few there who can help.
If you need to remove parts from your Tank that have been glued in place I would suggest you use a "DEBONDER",
Do be aware that there are two types of debonder,
1/ removes you from the glue.
2/ removes plastic/abs parts from the glue. I use a product called "ZAP 7" which is distributed by "RIP-MAX" both on line and through hobby shops.
Coat the area liberally with ZAP 7 and leave for ten minutes then start to work the part back and forth to free it, once it is free YOU MUST CLEAN THE DEBONDER RESIDUE AWAY.!!

Thanks. I will look up the vendors. Some of my parts were damaged in a accident...that's why you see both tan colored & dark gray plastic on my Tiger build thread. I need to order the side skirts & the front upper hull piece. Nothing needs to be removed fortunately from my tank except the PE screens. Lucky for me that I only used a very small amount of super glue.
