I built a Tamiya Tiger 1 full option kit some years ago and I am about to start a Tamiya Jagdpanther. I did very little painting on the Tiger but I think I will need to do more on the Jagdpanther.

I am thinking of getting an Airbrush and would appreciate any comments about the type of airbrush that would be best for 1/16 models. Thanks

I like my Badger air brush. It is a double action brush. The double action works like this. Depress trigger and you just get air flow from the brush. Depress trigger and pull rearward, you get paint flow. The air flow portion is nice for drying an area quickly if you've applied too much paint to an area and want to avoid a run. I have also installed a water filter on the hose. If you've never used one before, practice a little on paper so you can see how adjusting your needle in or out will increase or decrease your paint flow. This is also accomplished by how far back you pull the trigger. They are a lot of fun to use. Good luck. Oh, one more thing. If you already have a compressor there is no need to go and buy a special compressor designed just for air brushes. I use the compressor I have for inflating tires and running numatic tools. Just install a regulator.

Get an Iwata Eclipse HP-CS. The only brush you'll ever need. It's a fairly expensive outlay but you'll never need replace it and can do everything. To get something better you'd need to spend at least double. The Iwata Revolution is also quite good but more limited.

It is dual action, so you can control the air and paint going through the airbrush, and also has adjusters for to restrict the trigger movement and air supply, so great for detail work. Everything Airbrush sell the needles etc.

I have had mine for about 4 years, and it gets plenty of use. These were painted using it.
