Asiatam HL Proportional Smoke Unit Puzzle

I purchased one of these units last summer and need some clarification about the two 'extra' wires coming from it.
The twin connector obviously goes into the main board plug that the standard smoke unit connects to (basically the power feed for the heater circuit in the smoke unit) and I am guessing that the two new leads have to connect into the gear box circuits somewhere to respond to variations in power feed to the drive motors to sync the air pump on the smoke unit.
My puzzle is where the best place is to make this second connection for the smoke unit blower? Choosing either the left or right drive motor would be simple, but not truly proportional unless driving straight. Depending on the motor chosen, a turn in one direction would produce nothing from the smoke unit, or full smoke going in the other direction.
It's getting late here and I am not certain this makes much sense, but if somebody can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.
