ABER new release photo-etch

Post by jarndice »

ABER have just released a new photo-etch for the TAMIYA early Tiger 1 (part number 16Ko2) Tunisia campaign,
It includes the early twin drum FEIFAL AIR CLEANERs, the EARLY REAR FENDERs and the early EXHAUST SHROUDS,
Going by previous ABER PHOTO-ETCH I see no reason for this pack not to fit the HENG LONG/TAIGEN/TORRO Tiger 1s,
It should cost about 350 EURO's from AXELs but there is a lot in the pack. shaun

Sov Hi, If you go to ABER'S site and put in the reference number (16k02)you will get a list of the contents plus some not very detailed photographs,
Certainly if I were about to build another early Tunisian Tiger 1 This would be on top of the list alongside the IBU2 and a decent pair of gearboxes.
The only fly in the ointment is cost,
Tiger 1/TAIGEN HULL/HENG LONG BODY £100+ Gearboxes £60+ IBU2 £130+ ABER upgrade 350 Euro's and then all the bits and pieces like a decent smoker and proper tools and cables.
I have never priced any Tank I have built but when I see what I have just written I know that it would probably be a great deal more
I am inclined to think that for once you could end up with a Tank build better than TAMIYA's Tiger when comparing detail.
Unfortunately it would probably cost more. :{ shaun

Jack I totally agree, I am left wondering why they did not break down the upgrades into affordable packs,
I imagine they would sell a lot more that way. shaun

Thanks for the direction, saw it (and it's price tag too).

Insane, stick with scratch building or Voyager brass for that price. Coming from me and what I've spent building a single tank that's quite a statement, lol.
