Hi guys, I'm planning on getting some grease for the gearboxes in my Panther G, and my local Homebase stocks a 3 in One White Lithium Grease,
http://www.homebase.co.uk/ProductDispla ... reId=10201, however I read on the forum a few days ago that a 3 in One lubricant isn't as thick and doesn't stick as well to the gearboxes, or something to that effect

having said that, I'm wondering if the brand name is 3 in One :p
Anyway, is it a good enough grease to use do you guys think? Will it do the trick?
Thanks!

Try motorcycle chain lubricant, the dry stuff, Wurth do one, and you can buy a very small aerosol of it. You spray it on, no greasy residue, and it won't fly off all over the inside of your tank. It works on a motorcycle chain for thousands of miles that is under immense pressure eg pulling 150bhp and rotating at astronomical speeds, and doesn't fling onto the wheel, so a tank gearbox is well protected.
This is the stuff

I use a ptfe based chain lube on both my bike and tanks. Not run the tank for long so cant comment on the performance there but on the bike, I wouldnt use anything else. It doesnt flick off the chain much, just need to make sure you give it time to set. They are very wet when first sprayed on and dry to a grease like texture.
