HL Abrams main gun to short ?

Hi all
Has any one bother to check the length and thickness of the main gun on the HL Abrams
Is it me or is it too sort and too thin ? Is it like he good old say ..its shortened to fit the box ?

If its a BB firing tank, then they probably did the same as they did on their other models. The barrel has to be thick enough to take the alloy tube as all of the BB's are a standard diameter, then they just mould the plastic around it.

As some of you may remember
I started work some time ago on an abrams tusk 2 stopped with the idea of doing the HL Abrams
So I sat down and got me t puller out and started to plan ,,
And this pic explains my dilemma ....The HL Abrams Is on the left ..and my barrel in an engine hobby abrams on the right ..

My barrel is metal!! So what now.I know that the plastic ones are bigger to take the BB's. So I think we need to find out the length and diameter witch it 120mm m256 smothbore gun length 387inches, on the A2 and then scale it down from there??. Brian...

From what I can work out it looks like the HL dimensions are for the original 105mm in the
Early M1A1 HMMMM

Just found the length of the 120mm The gun length forward is 387 inches. Brian...

Hi All,
Been looking on the web at pictures of the main gun
if anything is the barrel on the hobby engine M1 to long!!!!!. The HL one looks about right to me!!!!. The M1A1 and M1A2 both hand the 120mm. The very early M1,s had the 105mm. So now I'm realy lost. I hope this gets sorted. If it is wrong I guess someone will bring out the correct barrel???.I HOPE SO ANYWAY.Brian...

The HL barrel is the correct length and thickness.
It is a solid cast aluminum barrel with the black tip made of plastic inserted ( but not glued ) on the end of it.

The barrel looks ok to me too looking at all the photos last night and trying to gauge the length from the mantel. It just looks right
