Guess what I just found!

Looking around for some more recruits for my tank crews I came across a place that does custom made to order 3D printed whatever you want! I placed a test order to see if the stuff is ok or junk but if you look thru some of it HOLY GOOD GOOGLY MOOGLY they can make ANYTHING! How about an entire armored German train from locomotive to caboose, sure if you have a money tree growing in your back yard but you can get it!

I ordered one of these little guys http://www.shapeways.com/product/DGJZ8T ... li=ostatus

Not sure if the prices are reasonable or stupid expensive but some of the 3D computer pics are really cool as to what they can print off.

BUGGER, it is all 1/18, but very nice, the first signs of what the future in 3D printing holds for our hobby. It shows great promise. :thumbup: shaun

Good Morning,
That's still a very nice piece of kit. RC possibilities since there were a couple different size versions of the Goliath trundling around. ;o)

The 1/18 figures I have look VERY VERY close to the few 1/16 figures I have, if the 1/16 guys were 6'1" then the 1/18 guys would be like 5'9" or so. I like the 1/18 figures because they are fully poseable where all the 1/16 figures are just model kits that can not be moved once built.

A couple people have mentioned to them that the R/C tanks are 1/16 scale and they should up the scale of their detailing parts and being these things are just printed off I don't see where it would be that difficult to do.

Whilst cheap and articulated so can be posed I still don't think they can compare with a decent sculpt

Oh no doubt they make some very very good looking kits of people not saying that they don't. I just prefer the 1/18 guys cause they are poseable and come with weapons and because most of them aren't expensive I don't mind running them over with my tanks! :haha: I wouldn't do that with ANY kit people! :haha:

But some can get pricey, case in point Sgt.Max from the battle of the Ardennes who is a tank commander goes for around $40.00. The Michael Wittmann figures are in the $20.00 range and he is not poseable but does is HIGHLY detailed.

Then you have Joachim "Jochen" Peiper that also does not move but is highly detailed, these are some good looking little dudes! :thumbup:

I know they're not perfect but they work real nice as background pieces, never meant any offence to anyone being they are not 1/16 scale. :{
