Hi Magman,
At the moment its optional to add your location in the world......It has been discussed recently by the Mods and admin....If there is enough support from the members for making it a "requirement" (for lack of a better word) we can revisit the idea......
What do people think ???

I am in the main opposed to compulsion in just about any field of activity, but when members of the Forum ask for help it would in many cases be useful knowing where in the world they were.shaun

I'm sorry Magman but I believe you are wrong in every sense of the word.

Just because someone chooses not to put a location does not mean they have no right to be on the forum, there could be a very valid reason as to why they do not want this.

Myself because of being in the military would not put a specific location only a county because of security reasons, so does that mean I have no right to be on this forum??

Personally your type of attitude is what ruins good forums like this and forces innocent people who just want to express there like and appreciation for this fine hobby we all share a love for to stay away or choose a less forceful forum that isn't full of mandatory issues that aren't relevant.

If anybody has issue with my statement then please speak up, but I fully disagree and will continue to make the point very clear and I will be blunt about it!

Hi, I think it would be really useful to know the general area that people are in, not neccessarily their actual location, if only to be able to provide appropriate assistance/advice or perhaps even meet up to solve a problem. Merlin I think your comments are perhaps a little over the top and maybe you are reading more into the suggestion than was intended, and I don't think anyone was suggesting that failure to identify location would bar anyone from being on the forum. I am sure that magman was simply trying to create a situation where we can be more helpful to one another, as magman has been to me and others in the past. If someone wanted to put UK or Germany or Canada for example then fine for them. It would just be useful to know what suppliers are available to an individual in order to fix a problem when suggesting solutions. Personally I have no problem in anyone knowing which town I live in.  Alwyn
