Ibu2 pro/er9xr pro HELP!

Ok so where do I start well it just ain't working :( I'm very new to rc and I know it's something I'm not doing, I get sound although very quiet and it doesn't always match up to what I've asked it to do, no smoke although I know the ibu ini file is set for smoke off, sometimes movement forward/Rev, it can turn sometimes but turns much faster one way but slow the other way, the faults are endless!

Some of the settings I've got set at the moment:
er9xr pro with I believe the latest firmware mod
Channel order : EART mode 3
Ch1 : 100 STR
CH2 : 100 MTR
Ch3 : 100 GUN
Ch4 : 100 TUR
Ch5 : 100 VOL
RX TO IBU2 pro firmware 1.10
All channels matching Ch1 to Ch1 for example all the way up to 6

All other connections are set as ibu2 as per manual and I'm confident all the dip switches are in the correct position, I've calibrated the tx then followed by both ways ive found using dip switch 8 to pair the board anybody got any ideas what I'm doing wrong? If it makes any difference I'm also using the TPA board.

Thanks in advance Jim

I'm sure Ian will see this and help you out but till he does what kind of battery are you running? I had a couple dip switches set wrong from the factory on my IBU2 and it drove me CRAZY! I'll try to help.

Hi Jim

Have you done the ibu2 to radio configuration sequence? Plus need to do this with no channel mixes activated.

Ian.

Hi, thanks for your quick replies I'm running 3s lipos I was tempted to try the dip switches just like you did but I wanted to make sure before i tried it, I'm always abit scared when it comes to electrics!

Ian, I've not tried it like that, I didn't see it in the ibu manual, must of missed it, I will give it a try straight away, failing that should I try the dip switches?

Cheers Jim

Hi Jim,

Turn radio on
Turn all mixes off and make sure sticks are central.
Turn tank on
turn sip switch 8 on
wiggle sticks in all directions (this sets the limits of the radio in the IBU2)
turn dip switch 8 off
turn tank and radio off
then turn on and try

Thanks again for all your replies, I have carried the setup procedure and calibrated the sticks/pots before moving the dip switch, unfortunately the tank is now sitting there starting and stopping its engine randomly and occasionally twitching its tracks it doesn't respond to any input from the tx, or should I now put the mixes in that spongehoobtank82 kindly directed me too?

Thanks Jim

Okay lets go back to the basics and ignore the switches on the controller.

Turn dip switch 6 off.

Turn all mixes off so you've only got 100% per channel (just focus on 1-4 channels for now)

Run through calibration.

Now try using the tank using the stick movements.

Because your channels might be mixed between receiver and ibu2, first try firing the main gun. If correct on left stick and up try turning the turret if on left stick and turret turns in correct direction try starting the tank hold left stick down right for 5 seconds (when engine sounds start can let go), wait for engine to start and turns to idle and try driving with right stick.

Still no joy, tried it multiple times, but it does now sit there main gun going constantly but recoil of track seemed to be on one side only

Sounds like it's not receiving all the channels during the configure stage.

Try unplugging all the servo leads at both receiver and ibu2 mix them up then plug all back in again and run through the configure process. If you've a faulty servo lead the problem will move to another channel, if not its something wrong during the configure process.
