New PzKpfW Panther Ausf G owner question!

Hey all! I'm completely new to this hobby as of today, so go easy on me!

I've just got myself a Taigen Panther G, which came upgraded with metal parts; gearboxes, sprockets, idlers, tracks and barrel are metal

however the instructions say not to run it on grass because it will resist(?), but surely with all the metal upgrades it should be able to deal with grass, or dry mud at least?

any idea?
Thanks guys!

Ah! Thanks for the info!

I just have the stock 2000mah battery that came with the tank, that's on charge as we speak

I'll likely end up getting a larger capacity battery in the future, but having just spent a pretty penny on the tank, I'll have to wait a little while for the battery :p
What libricant would you suggest?

Ooh and what do you mean by spins? Sorry for being a typical newbie! Haha
Thanks again!

What I do with mine is put the tank up on a stand so the tracks run free with no resistance and I add white lithium grease to my gear boxes and then run it for about 1/2 an hour varying the speed and direction and doing spins to break in motors before I run it with resistance on the ground or a surface. Of course I don't do the 1/2 hour all at once. I just run it for 5 mins, go do something else, run it some more, etc... When you run it like this you can look for issues without fear of binding something up to the point of breaking something.

Thanks for both of your pieces of advice

It might be worth me putting some grease on the gearboxes, if I could fathom out how to open the damn thing aha
As for delivery, it was delivered by DPD and although I'm not a pro, everything seems to be in order, from what I can tell

"but I'm sure some one has tested the thing before it was sent to you "
LOL! Famous last words!

I've looked for the lever, but there isn't one, as far as I can tell and the instructions don't say anything about opening it up :s wondering if it's screwed down from the underside of the tank(?), But which screws would release it I don't know, there are quite a few :p hah

Nope, mines with the plastic hull, the only metal parts are the sprockets, idlers, tracks, gearboxes and barrel

Yeah, all plastic, that's what makes me think it's held with screws

Yeah that's right, all that is on the bottom of the tank

I'm out at the moment so I'll inspect the tank when I get back in and report back
Your help's much appreciated, Kiaser
