Jagdtiger on hold

Sadly it looks like I won't be able to get the Jagdtiger any time soon, the engine in my wifes car blew a head gasket at 108,000 miles and we had to buy a new car. $5000 down to put the payments where we needed them means no money for the tank.
I hope Christian understands and doesn't get too upset with me.

The rear main seal was also leaking, the head gasket was kinda the last straw. Her car had over 108,000 miles and was starting to nickle and dime us to death! I had just done struts on it and replaced the headlights because they were so foggy. Then maybe a month after I did the struts it started having a banging sound from the passenger side rear and it turned out the bottom bolt that holds the strut to the lower control arm just snapped in half! That bolt was as big round as my thumb it should never have just snapped like that!
If the car was either A. anything special I would have done the work myself or B. in better shape with fewer miles I would have done the work myself but it was just a Saturn Aura (Vauxhall Vectra for those in the UK) so we ditched it before it gave more problems.
Oh and then there was the rods knocking when you'd start it up or get the revs high. It was just done Herman.
Christian isn't upset BTW and he said I could buy the kit a piece at a time if need be so I plan to order the metal lower next pay day.

Jack,
Nothing wrong with the piece-at-a-time method. I've been doing that with the StuG build and am about to the point where I can actually start putting things together. ( with the next Post visit or the next Payday ;o) Looking forward to your Build here soon. Enjoy the new vehicle. You'll save some dough on repairs to spend for tanks. ;o)
regards,
Painless

Herman, nooooow you're getting it! "But honey you got a brand new truck, can't I get one little model kit?" I figure if I can't get the whole thing at one shot I'll try to piece meal it. Worse comes to worst I may have to step down to the Famo kit but really thats not that bad either.
