Hi guys, does anybody have any experience of the mattoro halftrack.Got some overtime money to spend and fancy something different.I've been on YouTube and looked at some videos, and it looks pretty good, the only thing that concerns me is the steering. On the video it looks like the front wheels don't quite touch the ground, and when driving forward over rough ground the wheels lift off.Do the wheels do the steering,or is it by the tracks.
Any help would be appreciated.Regards trackpin.

Got one for Christmas this past year and in my humble opinion its over priced, well at least what I paid for it. Its a neat truck but like you said the front wheels don't have any suspension so they lift up quite a bit. The tracks are rubber which is ok cause the real ones were too but these pop off like CRAZY! The drive set up is like a limited slip set up in a real car so only 1 track drives it at a time and if that track starts to slip the truck is stuck because the front wheels which should be drive wheels aren't hooked up to anything so they don't do anything. Kind of like a 4 wheel drive truck when you remove the front drive shaft. The guns are FRAGILE so BE CAREFUL with them!! The driver is impossible to get to fit in the drivers seat unless you cut the steering wheel or his legs off.

Its a neat little truck but if I knew at Christmas time what I know now I wouldn't have gotten it.

Yes the front wheels steer it when they touch the ground. Its meant for indoor running only. Oh almost forgot the rear mudflaps are hard plastic so they get the truck stuck quite a bit. I removed mine and I had planned to make rubber ones but at this point I'm thinking it'll either just be a shelf queen or I may sell it, still have its original box and instructions so if you're in the U.S. I'll sell you mine.

Check out the metal German truck kit that can be built as RC from rctanksde. I plan to get one of them myself and they can't be any nicer to deal with.

Asiatam do a full-metal German Famo Half-Track HERE http://www.asiatam.com/product_info.php ... -1-16.html.
It's not cheap at €599.00 euro (about £430.00 thanks to strong pound) but it would build in to a beautiful model.

I can sympathise, I bet most of us have been in that position more times than we care to remember :haha:

I've spent way too much on my hobbies this year (and it's only March) otherwise I'd be buying that Framo too.

Thanks for all the info guys, that Famo looks awesome, gotta be one of my favourites.I built the Tamiya 1/35 scale, and it was one of the best models ever. If I stop buying bits and pieces for my other tanks, maybe, just maybe.
