Asiatam Sturmtiger - HELP

I need some advice on how best to proceed with the Asiatam Sturmtiger project I've started, specifically the side fenders.

The side front fenders need modification to allow the fitment of the welded bracket but I'm having difficulty deciding what the original looks like.
I've been using the archive photo below as a reference but its not clear if the fender was cut off where the bracket is and another section joined underneath (I've added red dotted lines in second photo where I think there is a shadow) or if the original fender was simply cut down to accommodate the bracket (similar to where I am with my model in the third photo).
Ignore the red lines in the third picture, I just added them to get an idea of what a joined in section might look like.

Does anyone have a clearer image of this section? Any help gratefully received.

Hi I have checked my reference books and the same picture is shown, but a little clearer, from what I can see the fender appears to have been cut to fit around the front mounting point for the superstructure. All the other pictures show the front fenders peeled back or missing completely so they were pretty prone to damage. Interestingly I also found a picture with the superstructure removed which shows how rough the conversion was.
Hope this helps regards Tony

Tony, thank you for taking the time to look that up. It means I can carry on in the direction I was going :)

Your welcome, research is about the only part of modelling I get to do now with 2 young kids!
anyway I've found this pic on the internet appears to be the same vehicle as your pic but from side I think this shows even better the fender was modified. Im looking forward to seeing your model complete

I wonder if anyone can offer a suggestion as to what this spring latch might be for on the inside of my Asiatam Sturmtiger casemate? It moves in the direction of the single arrow and leaves a gap of about 7mm.
The kit wasn't supplied with any instructions and every other part in the kit has been accounted for. Any help gratefully received.

I've never seen one in real life, but taking a punt, its a way of quick release option for roof removal ?
finger thru hatch- spring bolt moved- roof off ?

Thanks Herman, that seems to be the best guess at the moment. I asked Tom Hugill (he's already built one) and he said his casemate didn't include this so it's obviously been added later.
