Following on from my post in the "Introduction" section yesterday the above has now arrived.

I have a question (probably the first of many, sorry)

The exhaust smoke filler hole(s)? cant see them or at least nothing like what is shown in the instructions, which state "The hole of filling" which seems to indicate some kind of single filler tube on the back of the tank, which I cannot see.

So this is my guess, the two abs plastic cylinders on the back are presumably the exhaust outlets with the fixed covers over them. Does the liquid go in the outlet holes underneath the covers? If so both or just one as the instructions only indicate one filler hole/tube.

Edit: Or do you pull off the plastic tubes? if so which ones the inner or outer?

AAHHH the Tiger 1 smoker,
If you must use the thing which by the way is easily the most unreliable bit of kit ever invented, this is what I do.
Open the Tank and pull out the two clear plastic pipes from their location in the backplate,
The versions I have, had these pipes exiting through holes beside the exhausts but it is the work of an instant to fit them into the holes that go into the exhaust, although you may have to enlarge the holes in the backplate to take the pipes.
When you remove the pipes from the backplate, using the oil bottle supplied you will see there is a mark on the filler tube, pour no more than that into the pipe (either one)DO NOT OVER FILL!!!
To little is always better than to much, if you do over fill you will have remove the smoker and get as much oil out as you can,
Remember the wick is a bit like a light bulb filament and will not thank you for being shaken. truthfully I reckon them to be a waste of time. shaun

Many thanks for your reply, wow that sounds complicated! You mean I have to take the tank apart to fill! With the Bulldog you filled it down the exhaust pipe. This is the version I have:

Tony if you have a Tiger that does not have a quick release then please do fill the thing through the exhaust pipes as long as you know that the pipe you are putting the oil in is the one connected to the smoker.
I am used to the luxury of quick release, once tried never gone back to endless self tapping screws. shaun

Ok thanks, yes I think my next purchase will definitely be a quick release, just trying to decide if I should get a Taigen T34 or wait for the Sherman to be available in the UK.

Got it in the end, in-case somebody else has this problem, there are two clear plastic fill tubes down inside the exhaust cylinder, saw them once I put my glasses on!

Ordered some additional bits from Welsh Dragon to fit, and need to think about painting it, although need to figure out how to take it apart first.

Read that and you will be an instant expert and it even includes instructions on how to open the Tank.

Some more advice/help please, the left side track is much slacker than the right, should I take out links?

Also not much clearance between the track and the chassis, so on fast or sometimes even slower spin, when the suspension compresses track catches on the chassis, is there a way to correct this?
