Hello, ny name is Norman and I live in Herne Bay, Kent, UK.

My youngest son decided he wanted a model tank for his birthday so we got him a HL M41A3. We were impressed and my son "forced" me to buy a Taigen Tiger 1 from rctank.de (great service from them BTW) so we could do BB battles in the garden, but the side effect of me getting this was to reignite my passion for model building because I now desperately want to build a 1/16 RC Tank.
The issue is I think I've made a costly mistake buying my RTR Tiger 1. The only non-Tamiya (I really like the metal stuff) 1/16 RC Tank kit I can find is the exact same one I've just bought as an RTR! I've costed the options of buying separate components to build an alternative tank (a Panzer III) but that works out to be a lot more expensive. Anyway, I'll work something out (might buy the Tiger 1 kit and add a Sturmitiger upper hull), but in the meantime I got a 1/32 Tamiya self-build plastic kit to dust off and practise my airbrushing techniques. (I was previously into building model spacecraft, so tank painting is new to me).

I'm looking forward to reading and participating in these forums.

Welcome to the two of you. Assuming that Tiger has been painted since you got it...............looks great.
Looking at the Soyuz dio, you will go fine & dandy in tank world

Thank you Herman, but my Tiger 1 is an out-the-box RTR, thats why I want to build and paint one myself (the 1/32 plastic kit I'm knocking together will be my paint test article to see if I've got what-it-takes to paint military stuff :) )

Hi Norman and welcome to the site. You're just down the road from me - I'm in Birchington - it's a small world (maybe not as small as 1/16 though) :D

Well b*gger me !!
The Taigen sure does get the fruity bits including paint over the box standard H/L ;)
You have done well.
Bear in mind the test tank will require different paint techniques that the bigger Tiger.
Grey is actually hard to get right !...........
There is a very informative and detailed 'how-to-fix' section for Tigers in the things to fix section. Well worth a look, but some of these will not need to be done on your model as they have already been corrected.

Go your hardest mate, lets see the progress along the way if you dont mind :D
