Scratch and Dent Special

I was looking at Taigen's scratch and dent section and found this late metal edition Tiger. The upper hull was damaged in shipping and so they replaced it and then offered the tank for sale at a pretty substantial discount. Not having a Tiger in my collection I went for it. I will now look for the correct colors to finish it.

Pity that the "Scratch and Dent Section" is in the US and not over here in Europe... :(

I just found out that they offer scratch and dent. I don't know how many times I've been on their site and have never seen this section before. They also have a Taigen T-34/85 with an advertised price of $140.00 less than retail. It has a broken smoke unit mounting post. I will have to keep an eye on this section more often.

Not much to do to this one. I'll change the tow cables and maybe sand off the molded on tools before painting and replace with some metal tools. It's an IR version so it will fit well with my others. I'm quite impressed with the tank overall. I like the metal tracks, 4:1 steel gear boxes, and the on/off switch being under the hatch. If I can't match the paint, it will get a color change also.

Yes, it's all here, just needed some paint work and a little detailing.

So the work continues on the Tiger. The left side tube has been removed, separations have been cut between the fenders, tools and photo etch on the way from Welsh Dragon. I've also had to replace the elevation recoil unit. As best as I can tell, the elevation motor shorted out and caused a small melt down of the wiring. Photos later today.

Here you go,

Can you tell the fenders have been separated, I can't.

The new paint job looks great Joe, you've done a cracking job of it.

Thank you, it's coming together slowly.
