Hey Guys

I am going to be starting to build a diorama depicting a Nashorn in Hungary winter 1944/45 I am looking into some more research on the subject and wondered if any of you knew of a good website that has any info on the Nashorn and especially specific to Hungary 1944. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in me putting up some posts as well showing how I am getting on with it I do at the moment have a Italeri 1/35th scale Elco to finish first but need to start on the research on the nashorn any help would be so greatfully appreciated

Happy modelling / tanking

All the best

Adie

Hi Ade,

.
This link to "Achtung Panzers" site
Nashorn aka Hornisse.. ( Rhinoceros / Hornet )
http://www.achtungpanzer.com/panzerjage ... fz-164.htm
.
... Quotes from the site .....
The most notable Nashorn ace was platoon commander of 1st company of sPzJagAbt 519, Junior Lieutenant Albert Ernst.... On December 23rd of 1943, he destroyed some 14 Soviet tanks in a single day using only 21 round of ammunition.
.
Nashorn from 2nd Company of schwere Heeres Panzer Jaeger Abteilung 93 was also responsible for the destruction of the only M26 Pershing, destroyed in Europe. Pershing from the 3rd Armored Division was knocked out at the distance of 250 meters with a single shot. This engagement took place in the town of Niehl, north of Cologne on March 6th of 1945.

Adie,

Is the Nashorn going to be 1/16 ? I have done one recently and you might find it interesting in terms of the build anyway.
