Besides the obvious differances on the turret's gun barrel and mantlet what are the differances between the two versions?
What is the equipment on the side of the H version?
Anyone have both versions they can snap some good comparison photos of??

There SHOULD be lots of differences between an H and an L.
The Tauch panzer was an amphieous tank and the equipment on the side is a breather tube.
The most obvious changes:
Square shaped MG mantlet(E-H) - changed to round on the J and beyond.
Different main gun and mantlet.
Thinner add-on armour plates on the H.
The exhaust should be different on the Tauch Panzer as it was valved to stop water getting in. Very similar to that fitted to the ausf M.
Engine deck hatches should be mounted transverse on the H. Changed to inline from J onwards.
Additional armour plates added to rear panel of tank above the exhausts from J to L.
50mm armour plate added to protect the exhausts from J to L.
Vision ports on side of turret changed from J on.
Drivors vision block changed.
I am wanting to convert one to an ausf F without the turret bin some day.
Cheers
Tim

Good Morning,
I am using a 'Tauch' Panzer's upper deck as part of a StuG III Ausf B build I am putting together. Hatches and fittings are much closer than the other Pz III.
regards,
