HI Guys

My name is Adie and this is the first time into this new hobby. Many years ago I was lucky enough to be spotted while at uni for some model making using nothing other than tamiya kits and clay to make some dioramas this was the way I relieved my boredom and stress. My room mates father was an agent for tv and film and had just turned up to see his son when he walked into the room he was like WOW did you make these models from there he took me on a car journey with three of the models when I arrived at the destination I thought we most have travelled in a delorian as I was in 1944 France. The scene of Saving Private Ryan I was commissioned to make several models for the film and several more for the follow up tv series a band of brothers. Unfortunately my long term girlfriend of the time thought I was a child for this hobby and told me to get a proper job. So at the time listening to her who must be obeyed I joined the fire service I had a longish active career till one day a nice little terrorist decided to plant a car bomb in fact three devices one to get the first responders to the scene the other two to target bomb disposal and the of course the first responders the only thing that I remember about it was flying through the air and thinking why did they drive off ?????? up the road
After many months rehab I finally had to give in and become a paramedic as fire fighting could not be an option for me after a further few years in this job I became ill this was after being stabbed twice for the medicines I was carrying. I am now disabled and after four years of fighting felling miserable putting on a considerable amount of weight and being in constant pain I gave in I am now more or less house bound though I refuse to be in a wheel chair I take enough stick for being the size I am without giving them any more reason to have a laugh at my expense sitting in a wheel chair so I drag my legs about on a pair of crutches, I am now making models again and I am pleased to say just like my working career the old chain and ball has now gone and I have a carer come partner who is more able to cope with the Peter Pan inside of me and in fact has started to make models as well saying If I can't beat you I may as well join you lol after a year of collecting models and making some I found out through a friend who I buy kits from about these remote control tanks and that has started another chapter in my life. Now not having a large income I found three tanks on ebay contacted the guy who had them up for sale told them what I wanted to do but would not be able to pay for them for a week or two they decided to keep them for me. They had brought them from an Auction where a model shop had gone bankrupt and the stock had been put into storage where it has to said the boxes were quite badly damaged though in fairness the tanks themselves looked like new.

Now for the problem I charged one battery and put it into the tank the lights came on and flashed stayed flashing even when I pressed the start button I looked on here and have since took out the crystals and bent the pin slightly outwards but to no avail I changed them and still nothing but the changed crystals came from the same boxed tank is there possibly something I am doing wrong and if it needs to go for repair I live in the new forest between Bournemouth and Southampton can anyone recommend anyone that way on that is not going to charge me an arm and leg as my legs are worthless lol
Or better still one of you kind people may look at this and realise I am doing something wrong any suggestions would be gratefully recieved

Many many thanks Adie tanking for england

Hallo ADIE, Welcome to the Forum, You will probably think I am some kind of idiot BUT do you know the correct way of starting a 1/16 r/c Tank? Transmitter on first then switch on the Tank otherwise the symptoms you describe will be the result! shaun

Hi Adie welcome to the forum you can try swapping some of the parts about on the tanks since you have three of them you should be able to identify the fault that way. ;)

hi adie , I had the same problem with one of mine found out battery was not holding the charge ,have you try`d a new battery to see iff that works , as sometimes battery`s can go wrong iff they are over charged , I think it was on the site somewhere I read about it , tanker 242.
