Painting bottles

can anyone explain a method for painting a bottle to make it look like it's half empty ?

A bit like this ?
. . . . something I did for a giggle - the 'glass' is clear heat stretched sprue , the liquid was done by dipping them in 'clear ' orange paint .

but how do you shape the spray love the work ! sadly mine are resin bottles and not clear ! but genius well done mate

I usually do brown ceramic or green glass and use Tamiya clear green.
Here is a ceramic one
