Hi Just been going through some posts ,strange how movies affect people. Fury has caused a great deal of building on here and other forums, to a point where last week a mato turret sold for over £40,probably to go on a Tamiya lower to make yet another copy of Fury.
I have been on line on this forum and others since 2007 and I cant remember anyone ever doing a copy of the Bovington Tiger life is strange isn't it.

I have the opposite impression.
The bulk of Tiger models, if they're not Late versions, are similar to the Bovington Tiger. From the best model kits to the cheap toys, everybody takes that as the typical Tiger.
I know of several other versions that would be interesting to see, but they get ignored. The second most popular version is the "Africa Tiger" but literally nobody got it correct except Cyber Hobby.

I did Norbert last year, I think what I've done is fairly accurate but I'm still waiting for aber to release the front fenders, rear fenders and exhaust shrouds

Hi Dave close but not spot on , from the one shot can see you missed the holes/damage in the rear storage bin and front mud guard . Also one of the front wheels has hole in it (not sure which side) , and then there is the damage the gun and traverse.
The thing I was trying to get over is Note how many have Done an exact copy of fury from the film , now the daft thing is I have the Haynes Sherman book which has a picture of the tank with Fury written on it and its nothing like the film. Its a Canadian tank cast hull one of those with the thicker armour M4A5 vvss suspension 75mm gun.
There must be hundreds of photos of the Bovington tiger 131 for reference yet I can honestly say I haven't seen a true copy done(I could be wrong but I haven't seen a build or photos on a post) it is the last running Tiger.
Loads of people have done oddballs Sherman down to the lamp and speaker ,even seen a T34 converted to a Tiger tanks made famous by film. Loads of Wittman Tanks which he commanded (Wittman tanks are not driven by film but fame) .

what I am saying is fame seems to inspire builds not history am I wrong

I've got an early HL painted up to look like 131. Had it for years. It will get a lower hull and detail redo one year here soon. ( On the list ) I've been fascinated by the tank since I saw it in Bovington years ago, right before the big redo began. To see it run is a fave of mine and to see it in a film is a dream come true. We're lucky to have it around to enjoy and inspire our Hobby. As far as 'Fury' goes, I loved the film but feel no need to build that particular Sherman. I'll build an HVSS Sherman one of these fine years but it will probably be a Korean version to go with B-12.

I'm surprised ebay hasn't been flooded with other FURY tanks.

Strange that someone should raise this topic as I was thinking much the same. Everybody and their brother seems to want the Sherman, but few went for the Tiger, the influence of the media on people is possibly far greater than most imagine.

I had already decided that if I could get hold of two Tigers, I would do a static display of the Vimoutiers Tiger, and an RC 131. I have loads of pics that I have taken of both so reckon that I could do it fairly accurately. It would be great to have replica's of all of the museum Tigers sat on my sideboard, running or not.
