Hi all. My name is Mick and I am 51 years old and was injured in a motorbike crash in September 2014. ( Not my fault ) I've been told it could take anything from 6 months to a year recovery time. I've been building models on and off for years and just built a Tamiya Lunchbox and Midnight Pumpkin, both great fun, but after going on a lot of forums decided I wanted a tank. After looking at loads I decided to treat myself to a Torro 90% metal Tiger that comes in an ammo box. I think it is the best thing I have bought in years and am having great fun with it. It is completely standard at the moment, but I'm already looking at bits and pieces to change. Think this is a great forum and I look forward to being a part of it.

Welcome.

I keep looking at a Tamiya RC car myself but can't decide on which one! I always wanted a Clod Buster.

Good Morning, Mick,
As a one time Motorcyclist, let me welcome you to the Forum. I'm glad that you are enjoying your Torro Tiger. They are some of the best RTR Tanks out there. I hope you recover quickly and in the meantime, enjoy the forum here. Lots of great builds and people to assist with answers to your questions on how to upgrade your tank.
regards,
Painless

Welcome in Mr Mick E.
I too am a former motor cycle rider/racer, crashed my fair share, but not at 51 8O
Odd how post crash rehab for me was to work on the bike in wheelchair & crutches....................

I hope your tank building time is very therapeutic

Welcome to the forum, at my advanced years I am still an active motorcyclist, funnily enough I went on a tour of Scotland back in September, the scenery was stunning. Never binned a bike and damaged myself in 40 years, so I must be doing something right.

The tanks are a great winter hobby, keeps the mind active, and the wallet empty!

Cheers

RobG

Hi Herman Bix. I've been riding since I was 17, never had an accident like this before, dropped bikes before but nothing major. My wife and I were not long back from an 8 country, 3000 miles trip to Europe to see the motogp at Mugello. I was just coming home from work on Friday 12 September coming round a roundabout when a women drove straight into the side of me, fracturing my left foot in 5 places and causing a lot of crush damage. Having got into RC with my Tamiya Lunchbox and Pumpkin, and now my tank is helping and giving me something to occupy my time, definitely better than daytime tv.
