Can anyone explaine scale in simple trems. For example is 1/25 larger than 1/35 etc.
Just how does this work out?

If 1 inch on a model is 25inchs in real life is 1:25 scale and 1 inch on a model is 35 inch in real life its 1:35 scale, hope that helps

Now im confussed, why the would it be that a 1/16 scale model is larger in size than a 1/35.
I cant understand this at all. Also when I built model aircraft a 1/24 was much larger than a 1/72 on a like for like aircraft.

Scaling is constant Awins..... Lets take a 6 foot man....divide that by 16 ...then divide the same 6 foot man by 35 which one would be bigger? If you do the simple math...dividing by 16 should give you a larger number

This should help.....

The ratio of the length in a drawing (or model) to the length of the real thing

Example: in the drawing anything with the size of "1" would have a size of "10" in the real world, so a measurement of 150mm on the drawing would be 1500mm on the real horse.

Awin Hi, 1/1 is full size 1/2 is half size, 1/4 is quarter full size, 1/8 is an eighth of full size 1/16 is a sixteenth of full size, and so on, I suggest the reason you are having difficulty with scale is because you have started looking from the wrong end.I hope that helps shaun

Or simply put - 1/16 = 16 times smaller than real thing.

1/25 = 25 times smaller then real thing wtc
