Okay so when I first got my Heng Long Tiger 1 S&S w/Metal tracks & Gears I noticed it was missing the RX Crystal for the tank, my controller had one but tank didn't.

I finally found what type I needed, and a hobby shop that had them in stock ( Already have some on order that were for the HL Tanks )
I am using a Futaba Crystal Set FM27.195 TX and RX ( FMC-325 )

After installing these, I was able to start the tank.

Forward/Backward respond and work great.

Start/Machine Gun/Main Gun Fire buttons all work *okay* they seem a little hesitant to work sometimes but is working.

When I go to turn my turret left I must move my controller stick on my transmitter down to the bottom left to get it to turn, and at the same time it engages my turret elevation 90% of the time.

When i turn my turret right I have to move to the top right corner of my controller and it engages my air soft gun, which is annoying.

When I push my stick directly up, it does not fire the BB airsoft gun.. its more to the top right and moves the turret usually when I shoot

When I push my stick directly down, my gun elevation does not work, only in a very fine sweet spot can I get it to work about 20% of the time, otherwise I have to turn my turret to get it to work.

Could this issue be related to my crystal set, the controller itself, or something inside the tank?

I have yet to open this tank up, as I just purchased it and all the videos online show screws under the tracks.. Mine does not have these, only 4 screw holes around the perimeter of the battery compartment.. Don't want to break anything, so learning how to open it would be great as well.

One question...did you try the stock controller... Personally if my tank didn't come in running condition I would have contacted the seller right away...if it was just the matter of the crystal...they should have sent you one...otherwise I would have returned the Tank

ALPAH, I think Dark is using the stock controller but with a Futaba crystal set. I read it wrong the first time too and thought he had managed to run the stock HL on a Futaba radio (!?!?!?).

Dark, I would try to make sure both set of batteries are fully charged (or new). I know many times when the battery is not charged up funky things happen.

Also be checking into Mr Birgers "things to fix on your H/L Tiger". Could be in that has the info & more that you are looking for.

Yeah I had to read it twice as well...still the pins on a futaba are a little differently spaced...so yes...the question is still there...don't really know how either fit or ran the Heng Long Tiger

Sorry for the confusing post.. I was at work when I posted and I was trying to hurry.

Yes, I have the stock Transmitter that came with the HL Tiger.. I was just using the Futaba Crystals to replace the missing ones.

As far as the battery suggestion.. I bought a Tenergy 3000 7.2 V battery that I charged for about 6-8 hours before I even tested the tank. I heard the stock battery is pretty much junk, so I grabbed the Tenergy.

After reading about the Futaba pins being different, I took some Calibers and measured them.

They both measure .040 Thousands in thickness ( of pin )

and distance measures exact at .230 (+/-) .001

They also both seat well when I push them in. So if the Crystals are working,

Could it just be the controller out of sync?

I did contact the seller after I unboxed the Tiger, and I even took a picture of the missing Crystal within 2 1/2 hours of receiving my package and sent it to the seller. They have new ones being sent out, but it could take up to a week or two

If they sent you a crystal for the tank I'd take out the Futabe and wait for the one from them to arrive. If its still funky return it for a new one.

Sounds like you have done all you can DT.... I would take Jacks advice...it could be that they sent you a defective tank that was returned to them by accident..because not having crystals is really strange
