RC Tank Warfare community hobby forum

My Tamiya KT has black plastic tracks, as supplied with the boxed kit.
My question is that once I have painted them to look as authentic as possible then surely the paint will wear off thus showing the black plastic through, how do you prevent this?
Cheers guys I know ive asked a lot of questions as a newbie.

Hi I don't paint my tracks .I just run them in sloppy mud and let it dry . more you run them in mud the better makes them look like real ones

Dry brush them a mix of gunmetal and light brown.

Then build up the dry brush layers with Browns (various shades), greys and a small dry brush of really dark red.
