How to paint RC Tank rubber wheels

I have made a short video showing how I do it.

I use Tamiya XF85. It gives a true rubber look to the tanks wheels, and is very effective on Heng Longs, which are shiny plastic. For added protection, use a matt lacquer after the paint has dried. Always keep your painting hand resting on the hull/wheels, and move the wheel, rather than try to paint around the rim. On double wheels like these I always over paint the inner rims with the rubber paint so that it it all appeears dark once the tracks are on. It takes around 5 mins per wheel.

Has anyone attempted to use a drill?...you know put a bolt through the center and pull the trigger while holding a brush of paint to the rubber buffer 8O

If it's a long bolt..conceivably you might be able to do four maybe five all at once :haha:

If you take a Q-tip, remove the cotton and place a "pea" size glob of clay on the end, you then take that and stick it to the center hub, with one hand use your forefinger and thumb roll the q-tip, spinning the tanks hub, hold you paint brush steady and let it glide over the surface while your spinning, you will have a nice even coat of paint and not have to worry about getting paint on your fingers!

Cheers!
I don't usually get paint on my fingers, I was trying to paint without getting in the way of the camera. I should have made some new footage but it was getting a bit fiddly.
