Tamiya 7.2V Battery

As a newbie just reading through the construction manual of my Tamiya King Tiger, I thought that I had all to start the build but now realize I don't have the battery.
The manual suggests a Tamiya Ni-cad 7.2 Racing Pack. I've looked on line but am at a loss as to which battery to buy as it seems there are dozens of different types available.
If I bought one other than Tamiya (which I am finding difficult to find), which type and make would you recommend and would it fit into the KT as I have no idea of the size of the Tamiya battery. Also I know the voltage has to be 7.2 but what about the secondary numbers I see on these batteries e.g. 1500. 2000. 3000 etc etc this seems to reflect in the price too.
Thank you guys for all your help and support

It's the same as any other 7.2v battery with a tamiya plug. I think I have Orion sport 7.2v batteries in my tamiya tanks. I think I got them from rd pit stop on ebay.

The second number reflects the charge it can hold, in layman's terms. You will also want a good charger for them, ideally one which doesn't continue charging if the battery is left plugged into the wall and tells you when it's full.

Awins Hi, If I were you I would forget about NI-CADS, they are pretty much phased out, NI-MH's or LI-PO's are the batteries you will find in use now. shaun
