More progress, I've finished the servo recoil and elevation and fitted a tbu. Its quite a tight fit in the turret but got everything in. I had to cut back the barrel as it turned out when it was elevated it hit the back of the turret ring!
Woz has very kindly printed me some smoke launchers so they will be going on soon too.

Re: Tamiya m50 build
I've only found two pics of a M50's one with the continental radial, it has vvss and quite a few with the hvss and diesel engine.
Your build looks excellent.
Have you given any thought to doing a vvss version?

I have actually! I've got another lot of parts, currently it's going to be a clone of this one, however I'm quite tempted to do an early m50 with vvs. The other alternative is a chillean m60greengiant wrote:I've only found two pics of a M50's one with the continental radial, it has vvss and quite a few with the hvss and diesel engine.

You certainly are a builder with no set time period or country limitations. I try to stick with WW2 , Korea and postwar US tanks.
I would like to see the early m50 myself. The Israeli and their enemies builds of the Sherman hulls for different uses is very interesting .

Re: Tamiya m50 build
Looking good.
Yea it seems like just about every middle eastern country did that conversion or used ones captured during one of the wars there. I think I've seen pictures of it in Israeli, Jordanian and Egyptian Museums.
That would be quite a build since the whole turret would have to be scratch built.
