Hi guys, I'm certainly making full use of the forum and may I take this opportunity to thank you all for your help.
Another two questions from me then.
Can anyone advise on what make and type of air brush to buy please and also which make / type of paints do you prefer?

Hi Alan, I prefer tamiya paints as they see to spray much better than Vallejo ones. Regarding airbrushes I have a cheap Chinese double action thing but in sure some other members can make better recommendations.

this was concerning airbrushes....
With what is said on that thread...most airbrushes work well... so you can really get a decent one at an affordable price...just stay away from the Badger Cresendo and Anthem models lol...So get what your budget allows for

Paint... I like Tamiya best...but can't get that anymore...use different water based acrylics now ...that work pretty well...I have a good background in mixing colors ...which comes in handy because what I use now ...aren't produced in military colors
Basically saying use the paint that you can get your hands on...if it's Tamiya... that's the best IMO

I have just got into air brushing, I got a job lot for £90 ,I use Tamiya /humbrol acrylics I have resprayed the car the mrs kettle and 1or 2 tanks ,bring on the Eiffel tower .....wot wot ......

I'm in a similar position as yourself, I just ordered my first airbrush and compressor, after a ton of research watching hours of the 1/35 guys on you tube some of them with well over 20 years of experience, I recommend typing in Coen C and watching some of his vids on you tube.....I decided on the Iwata HP-CP airbrush a good quality double action airbrush that will last a lot of years I think it has a ten year guarantee..There are reviews for it on you tube if you want to take a look.....I also ordered a Iwata studio series jet pro compressor...I haven't done much research on compressors this was a personal choice as I liked the sound of it....and works well with that airbrush..

I've never used it, but I've got the Iwata Eclipse HP-CP based on very good reviews of it.

The better compressors for airbrushing, from what I've read, have a regulator and moisture separator.

Sorry, best I've got, I haven't even tried using my airbrush stuff yet.

I like Passche...have had it for a long long time....the best thing is there is still parts available for it and it's easy to clean and maintain..and prefer suction over gravity fed mostly because of the volume of paint you can use at one time

Found All airbrushes even the China copies perform well though...and have a long life depending on the user .... the exception would be the Badger Crescendo and Anthem guns they are terrible copies of the passche
