BB barrel & chassis recoil

This is three questions but based around the same subject area.
1. How do you remove the barrel on the BB version of the Heng Long pro edition Sherman so as to fit a replacement Panther barrel?
( I'm not bothered if it no longer fires BB's )
2. How do I stop the chassis from lurching back during the simulated recoil from firing the main gun on the above mentioned model?
3. How do I modify the turret so that it can do a full 360 degree rotation?
Thanks guys

You are really getting into this Merlin... glad to see you are venturing further...
answer to #1....you have to remove the turret... then unscrew the screws and remove the bottom...removing the mantlet is the challenge...there are about four screws holding the assy in place...do your best to remove them all... magnetizing the end of a fine phillips screwdriver helps...you can do this by drawing the tip of the screwdriver across the motors ...one direction only ...remove the mantlet... then you just tug on the barrel till it come out of the firing assy.... if the rubber hop up bunting comes out that's a good thing...as you won't have to pull it out with tweezers ....get your panther barrel slide the bunting on the end...and slide it back in ...then just replace all the parts in reverse order
#2 you can't

...actually you can..but you have to purchase a "dragon" board and hook it between the gearboxes and the RX ...you can also disconnect the wire from the gun mech...but you will loose the sound with the recoil
#3...get a set of jewelers files and a xeron flat cutter.... measure the gaps between the teeth of the turret ring ..then scribe some marks on the ring...use the flat edge cutter to make rough cut teeth...then get the appropriate file and slowly and carefully file the excess smooth to form some new teeth
There's a trick to harness the wires and keep them centered... offered by another member Cup Of Tea...basically it's a bridge with a hole in it ... you screw this on with the turret ring...putting all the turret wires in the center hole of the bridge ...it isn't perfect ...but it works
you can just see the bridge in this photo of my KV2
I made it out of scrap Plastic

Thanks Alpha, yes I'm venturing further as it is enjoyable and is helping with my rehabilitation.
( Got injured on duty earlier this year and got smashed up quite badly, so the military is aiding my rehab. Story for another time )
Suffice to say I have a lot of time on my hands to tinker and modify and learn more about the hobby.
I'm using my Sherman as a sort of test bed for modification practice before I receive my Tiger 1 for Christmas off my partner.
We were lucky enough to find an excellent example of a Tiger 1 from Dave aka Forgebear.
I'm hoping to give my take on the tank from the movie Fury now I have an in towards the HVSS, so that's why I am pushing for advice really.

No Problem Merlin...the Sherman is a really good platform...most of my headaches came from researching

....there are so many different variants...it drove me crazy

....but you know.. when I reflect upon it..it was really a fun part of the adventure
I can only wish you the best of luck with the progression of the build..and if you run into any hitches...if I can help... I'm there buddy

Merlin the Taigen Sherman should be here by the end of the month I'm told and it will have the 360 degree turret traverse. If you're not in a big hurry for this part of your build, you may consider waiting to see if they offer the slip ring, as they call it, as an option part for all Shermans. They said they were going to offer it for their (Torro) KV-2 but I can't seem to find it. Just a thought. Here is a link to you tube showing the slip ring. This one is for a T-34 but the Sherman's will work the same way.

PS Found out today it won't be out until December.

You may find the Panther barrel too long, you may be better looking for a Stug barrel. Here's one fitted to me easy 8 and as you can see it's about the right length...

SHOW OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.................
