My Sherman

Thought I would start the initial mod of my sherman tank.
I have fitted some extra ancilliaries courtesy of eBay and I have a set of T74 tracks that I am yet to fit thanks to Forgebear.
I even managed to get the mandatory bucket in there too.
I'm far from being a perfectionist but comments most welcome.

Of course Alpha, need to sort my priorities out
I saw on here that a few people had placed the stowage in different areas so I thought that mine would be attached to the rear of the turret so that way the personal items of my crew could be somewhat protected.
I also thought that I needed more than one spare running wheel so I have 4, one on the front, two on the side, and one on the rear.
Going by how we put netting on modern military vehicles I placed a rolled up netting over the mantle and a rolled up netting under the flag for rapid camouflage deployment.
I thought the stars and stripes with correct number of stars for the period was fitting too.

Read you got some T74s from Dave... where they the duckbilled version?...you have to put those on ...they really add to the girth and traction of the tank...made a big difference on my Shermans...Both in performance and appearance

My T74 tracks were not the duckbil version however I have placed an order with Dave for a set of these and he has kindly obliged to order a set in for me.

Yeah Dave sells out of those pretty fast.... I remember having them on my watch list ...in the time it took to inquire about shipping he was sold out
the visual profile is really worth the change out though... I would say the only downside to them is the shallow chevrons ... wish they were a little beefier

Yeah I'm hoping that the aesthetics of the tank will be improved somewhat.
Is there a How To for disconnecting and reconnecting the tracks with pictures on this forum as I'm going to require it for fit ment of my current T74's?

Not really Merlin...The stock metal HL tracks are best removed intact...just take off the sprocket and loosen the idler...Hopefully the T74s come with the Mato sprockets...those are required...didn't like the Mato metal idler...so I stuck with the stock metal HL...but that choice is up to you
The duckbills are a bit of a challenge to assemble...I used vise grip needle nose pliers ...for most of the assembly...you have to be careful though..the metal is brittle and will crack.. I cracked two of the inner lock links...but all in all..if you take your time they go together pretty easily...when you do get your tracks...if you need help ...just post a shout out.....many Shermans have been done .. and all the ones who have made them will come to help you out
