I had big plans today to go out at lunch and lay in the grass and get some great outdoor shots of the completed Pershing redo, turn the smoker on loaded with that new smoker fluid from Mega-Steam and fog up the front yard. The bad weather wasn't supposed to hit until Wednesday so I had plenty of time... So at 1:00 with snow and the temperature falling fast, I decided to break this show-off thread into two parts with an outdoors section to follow as soon as it drys up. Tonight, Part A: Pictures:

This tank blows me away with the amount of detail and effort you put into it Painless, watching your build thread was an eye opener to say the least.

Thank you for the compliments. After coming back to models from a long hiatus and being a complete Noob with big scale RC tanks, I did not consider myself any great shakes and I had to learn confidence, tips and tricks and techniques from the guys who inhabit this forum. They kindly corrected and guided and assisted with advice and parts from tank to tank and have gotten me to the point where I am at the least, satisfied with my own work. It's a never ending class tho' and hardly a day goes by that I don't have an "ahhhhhh!" moment as an easier, better or cheaper way to do things is encompassed. I'm really glad that you enjoyed the Pershing, Merlin but don't be so down on yourself. Practice and push your envelope \ skillset and most importantly, don't forget to have Fun along the way. Part B coming up in a few days, hopefully. Late Autumn\Winter in Colorado is a fierce season indeed.

Painless...... Very nice. Especially love all the accessories. Is that a 1/18 FOV figure ? Doesn't look out out of scale at all.

Thanks, Doc! The rider is one of a set that Mike\Sassgrunt sent along for 'Maxene'. I believe that those are 1/16 and from one of the deluxe F.O.V. metal Shermans that are currently out.

It's always good to see someone building tanks and improving them, in many ways its good that no one manufactures the 'perfect tank', as if they did we wouldn't have anything to mess around with.

Great work, and those figures look bang on scale.

I completely agree. I had been warned by people with my best interests at heart to just buy new tanks and not to bother over much with the old ones as technology had come a ways and the new tanks ran better with it. They were completely right, those folks, so I'm using the new tech to bring my old tanks up to date. As long as I don't go nuts buying new stuff ( within reason ) and remember that I can build some of the parts needed, it's not too expensive and the tank turns out like I wished it was when I first got it. Saves space too. *chuckles* Thanks for the cheers, W.W. Anyone who can build scale stuff and bring it to life from a dodgy photo has my utmost respect.
