New Sherman issue / problem

Hi guys me again.

Well after dismantling my controller I found that one of the wires connecting to the inside terminal had not even been soldered on, it now has more solder than probably necessary but I'm useless with solder lol.

After then powering up my new beast it just grinds to the left and the left track seems to be jamming / not moving to want to go straight forward, backward, left or right?

There is also a nasty burn smell coming from the tank and it was only fired up for less than 2 mins before I had to turn it off.

Any advice would be great chaps thanks.

Return it! The transmitter is screwed up now the tank too? So in other words everything that could be bad is. Call up whomever you hot it from and tell them to send you one that works this time!

It was bought from a shop on eBay called Hobby-Power.

I've been contacting him since I first had the transmitter problem but I've not heard anything from him since.

I'm also worried because I fitted all the ancillaries and transfers while awaiting the battery to charge so would that void him having to do anything? Or can I still return it?

Brilliant, glad to hear that they are usually quite good.

Gives me some hope for a smooth exchange.

This happens a lot more often than it should. DOA just stinks, sorry to hear about that Merlin. My bud had to return his Walker Bulldog twice until he got one that worked. Good luck with the return/exchange.

Thanks, not really how I wanted to start my model tanking hobby, let's just hope that Howes / Hobby Power are still good with all reviews in the good vendors section.

howes have very good on customer after sales care.I bought a tank from them & the barrel was broken, tank was picked up next day by courier & new one sent a short time later. All emails & phone calls were answered promptly & they didn't treat me like an idiot, as some firms do.

In this day and age of internet reviews and ebay ratings I honestly can'y imagine a vendor not standing behind the product as it'll cost them way more in lost business by getting a bad review then just eating the cost of 1 R/C tank.
