I've just bought the 2.4ghz upgrade That comes with a fan cooled board a new speaker and handset for my Heng Long Sherman.
How difficult or easy is it to fit this into my new Sherman and will I have to modify the interior to fit this?
Thanks

Fan Cooled? you got the Taigen RX....it will be complicated...as Taigen only works with Taigen
Everything should fit the same...with the exception of you removing the printed crystal mother board....the hook ups might be the same...but the function is probably different... the only way you can find out if it works is to do a side by side change out....then test if it will work...the thing I am not sure of is if your gun will fire properly..the rest should be ok

I've done it on two heng long tanks, was'nt complicated at all just a straight swap, works a lot better and you won't need the small receiver board with the crystal on it.

Hi Merlin707 you will be fine and no it won't be complicated at all contrary to the advice of some

. It is a straight swap, I have done 5 in the past
The set you have bought is in my opinion an excellent and well tested 2.4Ghz control system
Just more scaremongering about Taigen I am afraid

No worries about that at all. I would assume that you have not used one of these control units as you seem not to know of their compatibility with H/L.
Perhaps if you had actually swapped one before commenting, or at least read up on them to gain an accurate understanding of the difference between this and the RX18, then your opinions would be more helpful
Here is an idea....if you don't know an accurate answer to a question, perhaps it is better to keep quiet and let those who do know answer
Poor advice seems to be getting more prevalent on this forum

Hi,
It is just a straight swap, engine start on left toggle switch, machine gun on right, just remember if your tank is a BB version, there is no simulated firing of the cannon as there is no K button on taigen.

If it is an IR HL tank the gun flash stays on all the time, when installing a taigen system. I know there is a tread somewhere about the cure, but i have not found it yet. So my KV1 has no muzzle flash at the moment ( i cut the wire)
