Alpha, I have no idea what that kit sold for when it first came out. So, enlighten me as to what they used to retail for. One thing about auctions, the item is worth what the bidder is willing to pay.

Those things went from 200 to about 275 with shipping....they are terrible...you need to do so much work on them...dunno...but the guy who's selling it has got to be happy right now

Rare indeed........ I bought mine 2 years ago and it was rare then and I haven't seen one in a long time. The lower including electronics are all junk, the upper is okay as you can live with the wrong superstructure angle and the shorten length of the upper. I upgraded mine as much as possible (sprcokets/gears/electronics) and then sold it to fund for my to scale JagdTiger instead.

I've heard so many bad things about it. If it were me I'd rather buy a HL Tiger B and covert it building my own superstructure.

Definitely...... Two options if you get a Tiger B lower (HL or Taigen):
http://www.an-bri-rc-modellbau.de/epage ... ducts/jt10
or
http://www.store-juckenburg.de/index.ph ... er=product
The first one will have the correct angle on the superstructure but you are still at the wrong KT length, Juckenburg will sell you the upper only but you need to lengthen the KT lower which is what I did.

Michael, WoW those are some nice looking kits! Curious as to why the one is SO much more then the other?
I have a spare Taigen King Tiger lower hull, metal road wheels, metal idler wheels, 3.1 gearboxes and metal sprockets just sitting in a box doing nothing at all. Gee what ever should I do with it all?

jack,
The first one is only for the superstructure and his work is rough. You have to do a lot to make it look the part and I think his scale is off just a little.
The second is a full kit, including all upper and hence the correct length and also the super rare Porsche lower all in resin. Juck will sell you whatever parts you need for less. I have a Taigen KT lower as well and I just got the upper from him. His work is amazing as I have tons of his other kits. Here is my link to my thread with the Juck upper and the Taigen KT lower pics.

Mike,
In looking at your build thread I see my Taigen KT came with a different lower hull then yours did. I KNEW mine looked like a Heng Long and now I'm convinced that it is regardless of the Taigen stickers on it! Mine opens from the bottom to put the batteries in and is all plastic with no metal like yours has where the suspension arms attach to it. I could still use it and do the same extension you did to yours but mine would be 100% plastic unless I could somehow remove some of the inside of the suspension towers to install a metal support. I think I'd also seal the bottom off and make the battery just lay inside the hull like yours does.

Jack,
Taigen has differing grades of the same tank like HL. They don't do this with all of their tanks tho' for some reason. Your HL King Tiger lower with some support and sealing would make a great Jagdtiger with Juckenburg's resin kit. Also, there are rumors of Taigen bringing out their own Jagdtiger as well like the Sherman and T-34.
