Where are the track teeth supposed to sit in KT Idler?

Dumb question-I'm confused about exactly where the track teeth of the inside of the tracks, are supposed to go, inside the rear idler of the Heng Long King Tiger. I'm pretty sure it is method 1 but the tracks keep moving themselves out when i do it like that.
I made these 3 paint drawings to show possible ways they could go and asking, can someone please explain which one is correct? Engineering drawings they ain't, but I made them for simplicity, rather then me trying to explain with a whole bunch of words. The the more detailed responses anyone feels like saying I am all ears...only one of the 3 must be correct of course, so i call them method 1 2 or 3 -

Method 1?

Method 2

Method 3

The dots on the method 3 show that, the teeth would be inside the idler and not in the notch (both sets of teeth) So which method is correct of where the teeth need to go- ?

Marc,
I'm not that hot with lengthy explanations so maybe an illustration will help. Also: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=12317&hilit=King+Tiger&start=20. Method One.

Painless

Marc,

Method 1. That's part of the reason your tracks are sliding if you are not method 1.

Michael.

Hi Marc,

the implementation of the method 3 should be very difficult for you and at method 2 has your tracks no side guide. Short, as MichaelC wrote - definitely method 1.
