Torro Tanks

Hi all,
I'm after some advice on Torro Tanks. Preferably the Tiger 1 pro edition IR that comes in the ammo crate.
This will be my first purchase of an RC 1/16th scale tank.
I am pretty confident with doing the relevant modifications to make the tank look more realistic but I'd like to know the knitty gritty about the tank itself.
Mainly how they handle if there are any issues with reliability or electronic glitches that could sway me away from a purchase.
Are the metal parts like the tracks realistic or will I have to fork out on aftermarket parts.
I look forward to your feedback.

I upgraded my H/L Tiger with what are basicly Torro parts and my King Tiger is getting Torro parts. The lower hulls with torsion bar suspension is very nice MUCH nicer then the stock H/L lowers! The suspensions and tracks perform flawlessly on the one I've built. As far as the running gear and the "guts" of the tanks what you're buying pre-built should be no different then what I've pieced together and if thats the case you'll love it!

I have 2 Torro king tigers with the metal gears and upgrades bought from torro de shop and to be honest them and my torro KV2 are in my own opinion a good buy but it come down to individual preference but I like them that I have a 3rd king tiger as a project that's all torro bits but I like them as much as my Tamiya pershing but they look and are good tank but pricey compared to Heng Long

From what I've read, the Torro Tiger 1 and the Taigen Tiger 1 METAL are the same tank less the ammo box. Anyone with different info, please correct this new guy so I can learn also.

The Torro IS a Taigen, taigen actually markets their Tiger metal version as a Torro tank.
Very nice and in my opinion best Tiger on the market.

If you're going for the £399 one, I'd strongly consider buying the Tamiya. It's mechanically better, electronics are better, the overall layout is more solid and you might be able to pick one up cheaper than the Torro. It also means you won't have a turret that is to far forwards.
The Taigan/Torro is good but not worth 400 quid.

If you are going to pay nearly £400 for what is a upgraded heng long I would buy a second hand Tamiya any day you would have enough left over to buy metal tracks for it.

I don't know if it's just me but the upgraded heng long ones I have just don't compare to the torro but it's a case of you get what you can afford ,but a second hand tamiya are good as well I have a couple in my collection and to be truthfully honest I really like both torro and tamiya as my favourites , I don't know if I have just been lucky with the ones I got direct from torro as they are good and work well on the beach
